ABURI is an organization of amateur baseball umpires whose purpose is to:

Serve as baseball officials for the Rhode Island Interscholastic League.
Unite in the membership of this organization all fully qualified umpires.
Surround the game of baseball with proper safeguards, and to foster the spirit of play, sportsmanship, and honesty.
Interpret the rules of baseball according to National Federation High School rules (NFHS), as supplemented by the Rhode Island Interscholastic League (RIIL). http://www.RIIL.org
Cooperate with all organizations officially connected with the game of baseball.
